Jaye Bruce

Jaye Bruce, Certified Postpartum Doula, has been supporting Plumas County families for over 30 years. She focused on children with special needs through PUSD. She worked under First 5 Plumas for 23 of those years serving infants. Her experience and knowledge include promoting attachment, early development, and attuned communication.

I have been a Plumas County resident for 45 years. I live in Quincy. I taught the PUSD infant preschool program for 30 years and then retired. Currently, I substitute teach (a little) in a few of the special day class programs operated by PUSD. I have 8 grandchildren ranging in age from 5 years to 14 years.

Dr. Alexandra (Ali) Hunt

Dr. Hunt is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine. Dr. Hunt's calling is to work with women and their families as they welcome new life into the world. Pregnancy and breastfeeding support remain pivotal opportunities to promote the health of an entire family.


Michelle Fulton
Founding Board Member
Michelle is an educator (Feather River College), a farmer (FulHat Farm), and the manager of Feather River Food Cooperative in Plumas County. She is also one of the founding members of Bread For the Journey, a small micro-grant giving non-profit. She believes in the principle that the greatness of any community lies resoundingly in the compassion and actions of its citizens. Michelle has dedicated her life to that belief and looks forward to continuing that good work with Nourishing Newborns.


Ellen Vieira

Ellen served for 23 years as the Executive Director for First 5 Plumas. She served Plumas County with her amazing professional support and touched the lives of many people. She has always cared passionately for the children of Plumas County and provided outstanding services to families. Ellen is continuing her legacy in this new chapter of her life as a founding board member of Nourishing Newborns.
